Mac-Dry solvent system production is split between the models that operate with chlorinated and brominated solvents (Ranges MD-V, SF-V, E-V), the models that use high flash-point aliphatic hydrocarbons - class 3 (Ranges MDK, SFK, EK) and the models that use special solvents (hydrofluorocarbons, etc.). The choice of solvent and therefore of the relevant cleaning equipment depends on the degree of affinity of the solvent with the contaminant to be removed from the component, as well as on the nature of the material from which the piece is made. In the majority of cases, superstabilised perchloroethylene is used. This has a high solvent power and is compatible with most metals, especially those that oxidise easily, such as aluminium, magnesium, zinc and alloys like brass, etc.
